Japanese Buy U.S. Leading Mobile Game Company


Japanese Firm, Gree, has bought OpenFeint, a mobile games company which provides network platforms to more than 5 thousand social mobile gaming. There are more than 5 thousand in OpenFeint social mobile gaming, including iPhone games and games like Tiny Wings Android / IPAD / iPhone, Fruit Ninja.

OpenFeint previously has attracted 19 thousand game developers with a game that already has 75 million users. While Gree, with 25 million mobile users in Japan, has opened an office in San Francisco. CEO of OpenFeint, Jason Citron, along with all his team will still work there.


"We are very pleased that the Gree share our beliefs with OpenFeint, together we will deliver global mobile gaming ecosystem strongest network, combined with our 100 million users," Citron said in a statement.
"This is the second time a Japanese firm to buy U.S. mobile gaming companies," said Dean Takashi from VentureBeat.
In October 2010, the Japanese company, DeNA, competitors Gree, buy Ngmoco of USD403 million.
